Pilates studios are turning up all over recently, but The Pilates Room in McLean surely isn’t one of the newcomers. Instead, this place is approaching its ten year anniversary, and the staff collectively have almost 40 years of experience in teaching and fitness instruction.
What is pilates? It’s an integrative fitness practice, meaning that it comprises hundreds of exercises that can increase your strength, flexibility, balance, and even your mental focus. You don’t have to be an accomplished dancer or athlete to get started, either. The diversity of classes and services at this studio is one of its biggest selling points—the staff offers courses in barre, yoga, cardio dance, cycling, and Gyrotonic exercise equipment, as well as massage therapy services. You can sign up for monthly subscriptions or packs of classes if you want to get your workout on more frequently.
